Your Illinois Medical Cannabis Authority
Starry Night: Anablephobia
Case: Starry Night (flower)
File Date: 06/27/2016
Case No: 0022
A few weeks ago I get called to a house where a guy reported seeing a U.F.O. in the form of a flying, circular bright light.
I arrive at the location and no one’s answering the door. From behind the house, my partner and I hear someone calling us in a whisper-yell, “Hey! Hey! Hey Officers! I'm here. Over here!”
We go around to the back yard and there’s a middle-aged guy standing there in his tighty whities staring intensely up at the night sky. As we approach this guy, he says in a loud whisper, “There! There it is again! Did you just see that?!” We look up and see nothing but black. So I ask, “What exactly is it that you’re seeing, sir?” “You don’t see tha- There! Right there! Didn’t you just see it, that thing just fly across the sky?! What the hell’s happening?!
I look up again and this time I do in fact catch a glimpse of this alien invader. “Sir, that’s called the moon. Your flying saucer is the full moon, which is appearing whenever there's a break in the fast-moving clouds.”
It didn't take us very long to figure out this guy was a tweaker who had been up for days. Last I heard he's still in the loonie bin refusing to look up at anyone or anything.
Type: Hybrid (percent breakdown unknown)
Unsure of subspecies dominance (i.e., Sativa or Indica).
Genotype: Starry Night = BX of 303 Headband X Unknown Strain
According to PTS, this is a Mike Leigh© strain.
BX = Back-Cross A genetic breeding technique to help cultivators stabilize a strain by crossing a hybrid plant with one of its parents or another closely related family member.
303 Headband = Sour Diesel X [OG Kush X Master Kush]
Sour Diesel = Mostly Sativa with highly debated lineage. Possibilities: Diesel X Unknown Skunk; Chemdawg X Skunk #1 X Northern Lights (or without the Skunk); Chemdawg pheno
The “starry” part of the name was inspired by the strain’s very rigid, angular leaves with definitive points.
Cultivator: Progressive Treatment Solutions (PTS)
Date Purchased: 06/17/2016
Delivery Method Used: Clean glass pipe
TIP: To learn how you can use this cannabinoids data to better your health, see the Cannabinoids Library page.
Phenotype Profile: A nicely cured eighth consisting of two well-trimmed buds. These dense, mostly sage colored flowers with medium-green sugar leaves were glimmering in trichomes and full of orange hairs.
Bud Density: 4.0 [1-5]
Terpene Profile: The intact buds smelled of pungent pine and earth. Once ground, the bud unleashed sour lemon, pine and surprising light cheese aromas, along with heightened pungency and earthiness. When smoked, the flower tasted mainly of pungent pine on an earthy foundation, reminiscent of a Kush.
TIP: To learn all about terpenes, see the Terpenes Library page.
Effects: Moderately potent and pleasant mind and body experience that noticeably favors the cerebral without creating any raciness. There is a little spaciness mixed in. The body relaxation competes with the cerebral and becomes more noticeable over time.
Duration of Effects: 1.5 hours
May Help With: mood, depression, mild-to-moderate body pain, minor nerve pain, appetite, nausea, artistic inspiration, headaches (and more)
Starry Night has a certain finesse about it. The potency was on the low end with this batch.
