Officer Dick Downey's Pot Report
Your Illinois Medical Cannabis Authority
Last weekend I discovered in the worst possible way that my little brother, David Downey, is an EDP. That’s an ‘Emotionally Disturbed Person’, burnouts.
I was over at his place, just grilling brats and watching a Sox game. Davey used to be a hose dragger until last year when his back allegedly gave out for good. Now the bum’s on the dole and playing Mr. Mom. It’s always the back with you tokers, isn’t it?
So I’m sitting there watching the game drag on when I see this close up shot of the Sox pitcher Sales' face as he's releasing the ball and that was it for me. Next thing you know, I'm on the floor giggling like school girl! I look up at Dave and he says, “That gumdrop you loved so much a few hours ago, that was my meds!” I remember yelling, “You mean I’m under the influence of the devil’s vine?!”
For the next several hours I’m told I was very pleasant company...and that’s exactly the devil’s plan: Lure you in with the vine, hijack your soul and get you hooked! For this officer of the law, blood is not thicker than blue. Davey figured that out once he found himself in handcuffs at central booking.
Product: Gummy - Grape 20mg (Edible)
Form: Candy / Gummy, Gum Drop-Shaped Edible
Genotype: Not Specified
Manufactured By: Ataraxia(Gold Leaf brand)
Date Purchased: 03/17/2016
Packaging: A single dose of 20mg THC, which was packed in an airtight packet. The product was as a single, grape flavored gummy in the shape of a gum drop.
Cannabinoids Profile: THC 19.56mg; CBD 0mg (Lab: ACT Labs)
TIP: To learn how you can use this cannabinoids data to better your health, see the Cannabinoids Library page.
Characteristics: This 20mg gummy was purple with a sugar-sprinkled coating. It smells of grape and shares the same texture, density and size of a normal gum drop. The flavor of this gummy was a bit better than average; the cannabis component was subdued in the final product, but still quite noticeable.
Effects: Ingesting a 5mg dose was effective as a very mild sleep aid and without any drug hangover the next morning. Ingesting a 10mg dose provided mild body relaxation and cerebral experience. The euphoric effects were relatively balanced and mild. However, the effects of this candy edible did seem to activate sooner than some other types of edibles, which is most likely due to partial sublingual absorption of THC while chewing the gummy. Those who are comfortable and experienced with edibles and who need moderate pain relief may find the full 20mg dose an adequate remedy.
Potency Scale for Experienced Imbibers:
Peak of Effects: 1 hour 15min after ingesting a 5mg dose; 2 hours after ingesting a 10mg portion/dose
Duration of Effects: 2 hours for a 5mg dose; 3 hours for a 10mg dose.
IMPORTANT: The effects, duration and peak times may vary from patient to patient, sometimes significantly. The effects described in this review will not necessarily always reflect the experiences of others.
Please be responsible when using edibles. The #1 reason for a bad experience is being impatient and over-medicating. For more information, please see About Edibles and How to Safely Consume Them.
May Help With: insomnia, muscle spasms, mild nerve pain, mild-to-moderate body pain, stress, anxiety, possible calming of gastrointestinal symptoms (and more)
Good flavor but could be improved. Balanced effects and activates relatively quickly. Wish it was strain-specific.

I'm not sure if Davey will ever speak to me again, and I'm sorry for that. But I operate in a world of good guys and bad guys where there are no exceptions and no get-out-of-jail-free cards.
And remember, the next time you turn around, turn around again ...'cause I’ll be there.
