Ghost X Flo: Mowing the Road
On my first shift back from my deep cover assignment, I pulled over a familiar face weaving down the road behind the wheel of a beat up F-150. Henry’s a guy in his early fifties, but he looks like he’s in his mid-seventies. He picks up temp work at construction sites and does odd jobs around the neighborhood. He rents a room from an old widow. Henry used to be a responsible, hard working guy until his wife died of cancer about ten years back. Now Henry is an alcoholic.
I had Henry's truck towed and I booked him for DWI around 5pm. He was released several hours later.
At around midnight I observed someone driving a riding lawnmower down the street erratically. The driver had the blades down, which were throwing stones into some of the cars parked street side. I asked Henry where was headed in his Cub Cadet and he said very seriously that he was trying to get to the bar for last call.
Method of Extraction: Ethanol, using a ‘Winterization’ process to make an ‘Absolute’ grade extract
What is an Absolute Extract?
An “absolute” extract is a cannabis extract product in which all residual solvents, plant waxes and lipids are removed using what is referred to as a “winterization” process via ethanol. “Absolute” refers to the extract’s final high grade of purity. The term “dewaxed” is often used to describe an absolute extract.
About the Winterization Process
In the cannabis industry, “winterization” refers to an extract manufacturing process wherein an extract is used as the source material itself. The starting extract material, such as a butane wax, is dissolved in non-denatured ethanol. That solution is then frozen cryogenically and filtered to remove all of the residual solvents, waxes and fats. Next, the ethanol in the filtered solution is evaporated through a heating process, leaving only the final shatter. The last step in the process is to vacuum purge the slab of shatter to remove any remaining solvent.

Characteristics: A semi-hard glob of brilliant amber-orange shatter (the darker spot in the photo above is from a fingerprint). When pushed on hard, it gives. And, it also can break off in shards and pieces. Excellent clarity.
TIPS: I kept this shatter in its mini glass jar and used an X-Acto® knife to cut off very small pieces and then transferred them to an extract mat or dish. Another way to handle this shatter is to remove it from the glass jar, flatten it into a thin sheet and then save in parchment paper.
Terpene Experience: In its intact state, this shatter gives off a very light pungent odor. When dabbed, the flavors are mild but distinct. This extract has a clean sweetness combined with a mild citrus pungency. The sweetness did have a Haze-like quality to it. Overall, flavor was muted, though I've found that is the case with most shatter forms.
TIP: To learn all about terpenes, see the Terpenes Library page.
Effects: Hovering at around 90% THC content, not surprisingly, this sample packed a serious euphoric punch. The effects were relatively balanced that favored the cerebral but did not neglect the body. It’s a powerful high that might make you feel a bit loopy at moderate and high doses. Definitely the potential for raciness and anxiety for newcomers and those with low tolerances.
Duration of Effects: 3 hours
May Help With: mood, depression, body pain, nerve pain, appetite (and more)

It's all a damn shame.
And remember, the next time you turn around, turn around again...’cause I’ll be there.
