Case: Euphoria-Pure Kush Topical Bar (topical)
File Date: 06/02/2016
Case No: 0011
About the Guest Reviewer:
Hello all you burn-outs. Officer Downey here. Today we have a guest reviewer. That’s right, an actual so called “medical cannabis patient”. Here she is, in her own words…
Hi, my name is Meagan, I live in St. Charles and I’m 34 years old. I was diagnosed at age 24 with severe Crohn's disease and Ulcerative Colitis. Years of treatment, especially with steroids, have left me with arthritis since I was 28, and bone loss.
I turned to topicals [form of medical cannabis] for arthritic and sciatica pain relief so I can continue to try to stay active and walk my dog. This program has allowed me safe access to topicals and oils as an alternative to dangerous treatment that never seemed to work for me, especially opioids like Morphine.

TIP: To learn how you can use this cannabinoids data to better your health, see the Cannabinoids Library page.
Size and Packaging: Total weight is 247.3mg. The product was in a vacuum sealed pouch.
Ingredients: Cocoa Butter, Beeswax, Almond oil, Emu oil, Vitamin E, Carbon dioxide (CO2) whole plant extracted cannabis oil, Vanilla flavor.
Characteristics: The bar is a small caramel colored rectangle. I've also bought the jar form. The product formula used is the exact same for the bar or jar versions. The jar is harder to apply with my arthritic swollen hands. I prefer the bar version [for my limited dexterity). You apply the bar by rubbing onto the painful or effected areas. As you rub it in, the product softens and applies well. I would describe it as resembling a balm or salve. Once I feel enough of the product is on my affected area, I rub it in with my hands. It feels like a balm on my skin but not in a heavy, greasy way. I would try it on dry cracked skin. It smells like vanilla, and it's soothing.
Applications: I apply this topical on areas such as feet and knees where I have arthritic/bone pain. I have also used it for sciatica in my back and leg, and for muscle spasms in my back and digestive system. I also used it to treat biological medication-causing acne.
Effects & Efficacy: In general, the product absorbs easier the more you massage it into the area.
Bone Pain in Feet. The sensation in my feet when I use it on them is warming. It helps soothe the throbbing stabbing pain, and helps me walk more and be active. I'm able to do more around the house, and take the dog for very long walks. This means I have minimal bone pain that feels like sharp knives and grinding, and it's almost like I have no bone issues at all. Opioids never touched this pain like the topical has!
Knee Pain. It rubs in easily, has shrunk my 22 year old surgical scars surprisingly, and I don't feel anything as I rub it in. I experience more mobility with less pain. It allows me to stretch and be active and also get up the 3 flights to my condo, and up the last flight to the upstairs in our home. I don't have to worry about it giving in and falling down the stairs anymore!
Muscle Spasms/Cramping. I feel a warming sensation when I use it for this purpose. It allows the tightened areas to relax, and hurt a lot less that day and the next. Whether it be sciatica or Crohn's cramping it relaxes the area and I feel a lot better for a day or so. This is also another issue that the tranquilizers/relaxing meds didn't help with. I feel it's been healing whatever is causing spasms. It also helped ease my sciatica pain.
Medication-Related Acne. Relieves swelling and pain, as medication induced acne can be cystic and hurt. Acne cleared up in 3 days, 2 days quicker than Rx topicals. It's also less noticeable within 24 hours.
Duration of Effects: Bone Pain: 3-5 hours. Acne: results visible in 12-24 hours. Muscle Spasms/Cramps: 2-3 hours.
Notes: I have a speedy metabolism from the Crohn's and Colitis. This may run through me more quickly than the average patient. A close friend, without digestive issues, experienced 8 hours of relief for the same type of foot pain as mine.
Peak of Effects: Bone Pain: About 1 hour. Muscle Spasms: 15-20 minutes. Acne: about 12 hours, or overnight. Surgical Scar Reduction: seemed to take effect after 14 days of as needed use on same knee with pain.
IMPORTANT: The effects, efficacy, duration and peak times may vary from person to person, sometimes significantly. The effects described in this review are those of the reviewer and will not necessarily always reflect the experiences of others.
I would have given it a higher rating if it wasn't so expensive. The price has recently dropped from $75 to $60, but it is still a very small amount of product for the current price.

As an officer of the law I can’t endorse anything involving the devil’s vine; however, I must compliment and thank our guest reviewer, Meagan, for her very thorough and valuable intel!
And remember, the next time you turn around, turn around again ...'cause I’ll be there.
