Bruce Banner #3 Flower

ANALYSIS:
Type: Sativa-dominant Hybrid (approx. 60% Sativa / 40% Indica)

Genotype:
Bruce Banner #3  =  OG Kush  X  Strawberry Diesel  (The genetics most commonly cited)

OR

Sour Diesel  X  KKSC  X  Coal Creek Kush  (I believe this is the accurate genetics)

KKSC =
Kyle Kushman’s Strawberry Cough, a reserve Strawberry Diesel

BB#3 gained notoriety in 2009.

The prevailing narrative is that Delta 9 Labs originally bred this strain. However, there’s a bigger story here. I came across a member of THCFarmer.com and International Cannagraphics who asserts that he was involved in the original breeding of BB #3 and then he started the Delta 9 business in CO:

“What up MT folks. Grizz alum here. I just wanted to drop a quick note letting people know that Bruce Banner [#3] was created in Missoula, Montana. I was working on it while attending college. Genetics are: Sour dielsel x KKSC (rez strawberry diesel) female x Coal Creek Kush Male. [The] three phenos are 1, 3, 5. I have cut out growing #1 because the 3 and 5 are my favorites. After I finished school at U of M I moved back to CO and started a disp (delta9).”

In their intact state, these buds emitted a very noticeable sweet diesel and pungent citrus. Once ground, a sweet, pungent earthiness emerges, mixing with the fuel and mellowing the citrus. When smoked, this sample was much more subdued than its aromas, offering light fuel and very mild citrus on a sweet earth foundation.

Effects:
The strain name suggests its effects are analogous with the jolting, fictional transformation of Dr. Banner into The Hulk, which is cleverly accurate to a large degree. The initial effects came on fast and strong, and really packed a cerebral punch. Lots of energy and euphoria, but without Hulk freak out. That said, like the Hulk metamorphosis, the jolt was not long lasting. Though instead of a hard crash, it was a gradual mellowing that relaxed the body very effectively while never completely neglecting the mind.

Duration of Effects:
1.5-2.5+ hours, depending on dosage

May Help With:
Helped with mood and fatigue. May also help with body pain, nerve pain, muscle pain, depression, appetite, ADD/ADHD, PTSD, appetite (and more)

Rating:
4.5/5
A superbly cultivated example of BB#3 in every way.
